The Film Room

Vince Lombardi was legend for his critiquing the players' performance as they watched film of the practices and games. He took care to criticize everyone's performance so that nobody felt picked on, or above criticism. This relentless critique helped everyone improve, and in that spirit I'll critique everyone involved in this year's campaign starting with the below:

Mount Commitment to Ineffectiveness

The Democratic Party Leadership stands on the high moral ground, but they can't accomplish a thing with it. Not to criticize the current Democrat candidates personally (because I believe everyone who runs for office is doing everyone else a huge favor) but they all tend to fall back on ineffective habits. They use moral descriptors (like "we must", or "it's the right thing to do") but without ever explaining why. They also like to use meaningless intensifiers like "bold" and "strong". They talk about "fighting back" which only contributes to the endless siding up we hear about from the leadership of both parties. These things have a dumbing-down effect when we need to be going the other way. Worse, they dig in on their favorite social issues, focus on increasing voter turnout, and talk about "beating the Republican" instead of leading. Some of them even mention "workers". None of this is working for them.

Republican Party Leadership

Pandering to White Christian Nationalism, anti-immigration and election & Medicaid fraud propaganda, and putting Party over country (at all costs) has set the Republican party back by a generation. Let's end the sycophancy and get back to our Ripon College roots.

The Press

Four years ago I was ostracized (censored) by the tinypondian liberal press, who subjected me to their "main candidate" fundraising rubric before the 2022 election year even started! Not to be small about it, but this actually cost me an appearance on 60 Minutes. I think it's important to acknowledge that some of the news stations have improved their performance, and have been interviewing all of the candidates. Providing equal and fair news coverage is essential to the running of our Democratic Republic.

The Weather Stations (Lilapsophobia)

We can all play a part in bringing the overall level of anxiety down. The weather stations for example could stop overdoing the heightened weather alert days (which contributes to lilapsophobia). Yes we live in a northern climate but not every day of the year is a life threatening weather event. Once I become Governor, my office will allot an annual number of actual heightened weather alert (AHWA) days at the beginning of each year to every news station based empirically on weather history and key trends. Each station will be able to go through their allotment of AHWA days as fast as they want, but once the allotment is used up that's it until the beginning of the following year.
